The remaining mobility of persons with reduce strength is used and promoted. The user is able to actively move with the wheelchair despite his/her low remaining strength.
As an alternative to an indoors electric wheelchair: with Servomatic, the user can propel the wheelchair bilaterally with both arms, the rehabilitation aims are supported
The therapeutic effort for independent mobility can be integrated into the therapy at an early stage (even for persons with very weak musculature). The user learns the movement sequences necessary for driving a manual wheelchair.
The manual driving of an adapted wheelchair promoted the straightening of the torso. This means expansion of the chest and therefore better aeration of the lungs and consequently increased functional capacity of the user.
An independent indoor mobility for persons with reduced strength (e.g. geriatric care for multiple sclerosis, muscle atrophy, muscle dystrophy, particle paralysis of the upper extremities, etc.) can be made possible with this accessory drive.
Small height differences outdoors can be overcome independently: ramps in front of the house door, slight unevenness or inclines, pavement kerbs are no longer uncrossable obstacles.
The Servomatic can be removed from the adapted manual wheelchair when it is no longer required at an advanced stage of the rehabilitation and can then be reused.
